Here's a list of 10 assumptions about life that I find useful regardless whether they are true or not. I invite you to investigate, experiment with it and check-in for yourself!

1️⃣ Life is for me

Life is happening for me. Not for my ego or my egoic goals, but for my authentic self and it’s development. Sometimes I don’t understand right away how a particular situation can be for me and yet—in hindsight—it usually makes sense and brght me right to where I needed to be.

2️⃣ Master and student

As a possibility I am a Buddha right here and now. I don’t need any more practice, lessons or trials. I‘m it and it’s done. As a possibility I always remain a student and I commit to life-long learning. I’m never done. Holding these seemingly paradoxical positions at the same time feels whole to me.

3️⃣ Everyone can be my teacher

Everybody can be my teacher, especially those who trigger me the most. Where strong resistance arises there’s a gem to be found. However, I might choose to postpone taking the lesson due to a lack of resources, fear or any other reason. That’s ok, too. Life is patient.

4️⃣ New doors, new keys

There’s always a next level, but the key to unlock it might (and most likely will) change over time. What took me here won’t get me there. Leveling up requires more and more of the entirety of who I am. »For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.« – Luke 8:17

5️⃣ The art of non-resistance

»Enlightenment is absolute cooperation with the inevitable.« – Anthony de Mello. A certain amount of surrender/acceptance/non-resistance as an inner attitude is the foundation of any positive action in the world.

6️⃣ Love is and I am that

Most of what we think love is isn’t love at all. It’s infatuation, projection, attachment, desire, lust and other things. A ray of sunshine is love. The scent of a flower is love. Presence is love. Love is the highest expression of who I am. »Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs.« – Corinthians 1:13
