When somebody in our proximity gets triggered – how to best deal with them in the moment and how to handle the situation in general?

We’ve probably all experienced it many times already… we say something »wrong« or a little something »goes wrong« and somebody who’s with us at the time gets triggered. Can you recall a situation like that?

With getting triggered I mean that they experience negative emotions such as sadness, hurt or anger and the emotion that they experience is disproportionally strong in comparison to the situation at hand. From where we stand it looks like they overreact. This is an indicator for shadow/trauma/painbody showing up – if it’s histerical it’s historical they say.

Now how to best deal with them in the moment and how to handle the situation in general? Let’s collect some ideas together!

1️⃣ Keep cool

When someones painbody gets activated, we can say that they resonate on a lower frequency in that particular moment. (In I explain how emotions can be arranged according to their frequency.)

When someone is resonating on a lower frequency, this frequency has a pull to it – pretty much like an electromagnetic force.

They get triggered → their painbody gets activated → they resonate on a lower frequency → this lower frequency has a pull to it → We are »sucked in« to resonate on the same low frequency as well.

This is where our work comes in: Keep cool, centered and stay with yourself!

Whatever they are experiencing, whatever they are saying, is being expressed directly from the place of their own painbody. It is not about us. Imagine that they are speaking a language we don’t understand. Their mouths formulare sounds, not words that make sense to us.

They are experiencing what they are experiencing and that’s ok. We can hold space (if we have the required resources), we can show up compassionately, but it’s not wise to make it about ourselves, because then… yes, we are as well going down the spiral until we reach the same low frequency as our counterpart.

The good news is: If we manage to keep our cool, our high frequency is attractive as well! They can calm down in our peaceful energy and find back to their conscious adult self – fantastic outcome! Or they run from our peaceful energy. That’s ok, too. And it leads us to the next approach:

2️⃣ Take space
