This was first shared on the legendary Unlock Myself Retreat with my friend Ben and the inspiration came from a minigame on my smartphone called 100 floors. Credit where credit is due! 😉

»Old keys won't open new doors.«

Have you ever played 100 floors? Each level presents a new room to the user. The goal is always the same: Find a way to unlock the elevator, get in and it takes you up to the next level. Now what is different in each level is HOW you unlock the elevator. The higher the level the quirkier the riddles become. What worked before won't work now or somehow paradoxically different.

One of the trickiest levels was the one where I had to literally do nothing and simply wait. After a certain time had passed, the elevator opened up on its own. Old keys won't open new doors!

As a possibility consider that it is exactly the same in life. What brought you here won't get you there. The success you achieved in your job by pushing your limits will evaporate when you push harder and burn out, just as an example.

What if you stow away your old keys for a moment and look for new ones, different ones, weird ones or a combination of the above? 100 levels. 100 keys.

Which one do you need to unlock your next level?
